Responsible sourcing

Risk assessments across our raw material inputs allow us to ensure we source our raw materials ethically and responsibly. This includes respecting human rights, labor rights and workers’ health and safety.

Risk assessments improve traceability to understand potential environmental risks within our global supply chain. We use SEDEX, a collaborative online data platform to gather and share information about our supply chains and suppliers.

Vegetable-derived proteins

We purchase non-GMO vegetable-derived proteins, including soy protein isolates, from suppliers in China. These suppliers sign our Code of Conduct and register on SEDEX, which initiates independent ethical audits of their operations. We have conducted ethical assessments and on-the-ground audits of our soy protein isolate supply base and continue to work with our supply chain to ensure high standards of ethics and sustainable practices.

Rice and rice flours

We source rice and rice flours from California and the southern states of the USA. We are an active member of the USA Rice Millers Association, which is involved with conservation and sustainability initiatives across the industry as part of the wider USA Rice group. Their sustainability work is broad, looking at areas such as biodiversity in rice farming and examining farming methods that preserve water. Their work also includes working with farmers to ensure good land stewardship.
