Aligning with the SDGs

The United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals guide and inform our progress.

The United Nations developed the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to harmonize international sustainability investments and activities. They act as a blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

We are committed to four SDGs to guide and inform our progress and align our approach to an international framework of action.

We provide our customers with safe, high-quality ingredients to create healthy, protein-intensive foods. We actively engage with our farmers and suppliers to uphold the highest standards of sourcing practices, enhance the traceability of commodities, and demonstrate transparency in our supply chain. We are part of a future that ensures secure and sustainable food sources.

Our chosen charity efforts also align with SDG2, as one of our main focuses is donating to food banks to support those in our local communities with essential goods.

We actively and consistently promote good health and wellbeing among our people. We invest in systems and infrastructures that ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of our people at work and commit to always looking at ways to improve in line with best practices. For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, we improved the air quality of our workplaces to protect our people better.

We create jobs in our communities and support our people throughout their careers with PGPI. We provide development opportunities, not only for our direct employees but for our suppliers, knowing that a strong and engaged workforce ecosystem will also help make us an economically robust organization that contributes to wider growth.

We task dedicated teams to assess our infrastructure and technology continually. We invest in better equipment with reduced energy dependency and fewer emissions that are better for the planet. Part of SDG 9 asks for inclusive infrastructure development and to help small-scale enterprises to access markets; we act on this by choosing to work with local, minority-owned businesses.
