Managing waste

We’re finding ways to increase the efficiencies of our raw materials to make them go as far as possible. In addition, our people at our California and Indiana sites are finding new ways to increase the amount of waste we reuse or recycle.

Zero waste to landfill

We aspire to send zero waste to landfills, meaning most of our waste is repurposed, reused or recycled.

Small steps to big change

We believe that even the smallest changes are worth making because collectively, that’s what can make a difference. Across our sites, we’ve made changes, including:

  • Improving our recycling rates by introducing new recycling bins for plastic, glass and cardboard
  • Avoiding the use of paper and switching to cloud-based computing, digital invoices and quotes
  • Correctly sorting the pallets used for bringing supplies into our sites so that they can be reused or recycled
  • Responsibly recycling electronic waste, such as computers and printers
  • Installing water coolers and encouraging the use of refillable containers so that our employees don’t have to rely on bottled water and single-use plastics
