PGP in EV awarded “Business of the Year” by Grow SW Indiana Workforce

PGP International were recently awarded “Business of the Year” by the Grow Southwest Indiana Workforce Development Board. PGPI were nominated alongside six other local businesses and were selected as the winner in recognition of their community initiatives that focus on workforce development and the hiring and retention of their skilled workforce.

Brad Jenkins, Director of Engineering, PGP International, said, “With PGPI being new to Evansville eight years ago, it was really important for us to partner with local organizations like Grow Southwest Indiana and WorkOne to help network with the community and find skilled employees.”

He continued, “The partnership has been hugely beneficial and has grown increasingly so over the eight years we’ve been here. Grow Southwest Indiana has helped PGPI with things such as coming in and assessing our jobs in order to identify the key skills that we need, helping us assess and recruit potential new employees in the area, and assisting us in acquiring the various training grants that are available to companies like ourselves.”

The relationship that has been built with these local organizations has been crucial in strengthening PGPI’s ability to be successful at the highest level in the Evansville, IN area, and it has been a strong team effort to build such important connections. “I want to give special mention to Donna King, HSE Manager, and Tonchelle Hull, HR & Office Admin, who spent time fostering the relationship with WorkOne and Grow Southwest Indiana to utilize their services. These two really were the ones who put the energy into utilizing the services from these local organizations who help Southwest Indiana businesses to grow.”

PGPI continually seeks out ways to hire and retain a skilled workforce. This past year, we have had five positions profiled for WorkKeys Assessments. WorkKeys has assisted PGPI with recruitment in hiring qualified talent candidates and increasing the retention rate.

Brad concluded, “I’m very confident that you’re going to see this place grow to be even bigger and better than it already is, and we certainly plan to continue to partner with Grow Southwest Indiana along with other local organizations that have helped us this far.”
