What are they?
The term “hydrolysis” can be defined as partial digestion. The intact full chain of amino acids found in the protein is broken down into small amino acid blocks using an enzyme. The protein is first isolated using our state of the art membrane technology then undergoes the enzyme hydrolysis. The enzymes are carefully chosen for the particular amino acid bonds that we want to cleave. This determines the functionality of the end product.
What are their primary function?
The primary function of protein hydrolysates are to add nutrition to a formulation. We are actively developing new and novel hydrolysate products.
What are the specific applications?
Protein hydrolysates are used in the following applications:
- Tablets
- Nutritional Bars
- Nutritional Beverages
- Infant Formula
- Special Dietary Needs Formulas
- Reduced Allergenicity Formulas
