SUMMARY:  The Whey Procurement Manager will be responsible for selecting and evaluating whey suppliers.  Tasked also with negotiating price and driving supplier productivity and total cost improvement of materials.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Analyze current spend and supplier data and identify opportunities to improve.
• Ensure cost, quality, delivery, and capability requirements are met and sustained.
• Identification and qualification of new suppliers, preparation and execution of RFQ and bidding events.
• Evaluate purchase requirement for material, service and equipment; solicit and evaluate supplier bids; make sound purchase/contract recommendations; issue purchase orders and supply contracts.
• Maintains vendor certification program by establishing standards; conducting site visits; monitoring compliance.
• Negotiate long term contracts with pricing, service and supply assurance structure to support company strategic planning and cost goals for raw materials and components.
• Monitor and manage supplier performance in delivery, cost, quality, service, and innovations.
• Lead information analysis, supplier negotiations and design of business processes to identify and control cost.
• Work with Functional Heads and other Subject Matter Experts to establish policy, procedures, data analysis, and report requirements for all operations.
• Provide effective reporting / analysis as required to support company planning/budgeting process, new product quotations, supplier cost reduction strategies, and other needs as identified.
• Participate in determining long-term procedural and information needs; develop overall strategy for continued process and product development.
• Interact with internal and external customers/suppliers to ensure service delivery and overall customer satisfaction.

Profile: Bachelor’s degree required. 7+ years experience in purchasing, Supply Chain with skill set required to evaluate supplier operations for potential production improvements and/or potential material cost reductions. Highly effective communicator (up, across, down) both written and orally. Practical, results-oriented team builder with superior analytical, project management, and problem-solving skills.
