Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

This position will establish, develop and manage the company’s Quality Assurance Program, including policies and procedures, objective, organization and measurements.  This person will ensure the quality of the company’s products meet the requirements, specifications, and quality standards established by customers and company. 

• Development, management and monitoring of all aspects of Quality function to prevent recalls and withdrawals. To head withdrawals and recalls activities if needed.
• Maintaining food safety and regulatory program compliance. Ensure that internal food safety inspections are being conducted.
• Improve and implement all QA and Sanitation programs: Environmental, Kosher, GFCO, Organic, Master cleaning schedule, Pest Control, Chemical Control, HACCP, QA manual, Sanitation manual.
• Ensure the plant is audit ready daily. Point of contact for all QA inspections/audits.
• Investigate and report all customer complaints. Report findings to Plant Manager.
• Manage and foster a team environment with all employees and departments. Provide coaching and training to QA Supervisor, ensure that production associates are being trained in QA and Sanitation items.
• Manage departmental operational and capital budgets.

Other duties will be assigned by Plant Manager/VP Operations.

Requirements:

B.S./MS in Food Science, Biological Sciences or related degree. Five plus years as Quality Supervisor or Manager in food industry. Extensive knowledge in the areas of HACCP, SSOPs, GMPs, FDA, USDA, organic, kosher.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.
